LEO WINDTNER was re-elected as president of the Austrian FA (ÖFB), securing his third four-year term after taking the helm in '09. The 66-year-old immediately looked to the future at the association's ordinary general assembly. He said, "With almost 300,000 active players, football is the biggest sport in Austria. We want to make sure it stays this way, and we will keep up the good work" (UEFA). ... National League club Aldershot Town have appoint LAURA SMITH as its new CEO. Smith joins the club after filling a similar role with the Suffolk FA for the last four-and-a-half years (BBC, 6/19).

Former Real Madrid player RAÚL will return to the team he played for from '94-10. The former Real Madrid captain, who is currently U.S. country manager for La Liga, will work with Real Madrid Dir General JOSÉ ÁNGEL SÁNCHEZ (AS, 6/19). ... Australian Football League side Port Adelaide Head of High Performance DARREN BURGESS will join Arsenal in July. Reports last week claimed that Burgess, who worked at Liverpool from '10-13 under KENNY DALGLISH, ROY HODGSON and BRENDAN RODGERS, was "set to move to Arsenal" to take charge of its medical, fitness, psychology and performance analysis. Port Adelaide confirmed that Burgess, whose appointment was approved by Arsenal Manager ARSÈNE WENGER, will see out the remainder of the '17 AFL season with the club (ESPN.com, 6/19). ... A-League side Melbourne City named WARREN JOYCE its new head coach. Joyce, 52, has experience as a player and manager in England and Belgium, including a spell as head coach of Leeds United reserves, two years at Belgian side Royal Antwerp, eight years at ManU reserves and as manager for Wigan Athletic (Melbourne City).
