Real Madrid's CRISTIANO RONALDO said that "sometimes the best answer is to be quiet" in the wake of allegations he defrauded the Spanish tax office of €14.7M. Ronaldo spoke briefly when pressed on the subject by reporters following a training session with Portugal on Wednesday, saying that he had a "clear conscience" (PA, 6/15). ... Argentinian side Sport Club Pacifico defender FEDERICO ALLENDE "caused an uproar" in the country after revealing that he "used a needle to poke the strikers" of top-division side Estudiantes during Sunday's cup game. Pacifico, which plays in Argentina's fourth tier, "pulled off a major upset" when it won 3-2 in Sunday's round-of-32 Copa Argentina game.
