Media Notes: Eurosport To Expand Coverage Of Tour De France

Eurosport upgraded its deal for the next three editions of the Tour de France. The enhanced agreement with the European Broadcasting Union and Amaury Sport Organisation will see up to 25 more hours of live Tour de France coverage for each of the next three years. Eurosport also increased its exclusive coverage of the event with the majority of European markets receiving the new live hours on a fully or partially exclusive basis (Eurosport). 

Eleven Sports added more speedway action to its portfolio in Poland with live coverage of the Ekstraliga. The agreement, which covers the '19-21 seasons, will see Eleven sublicense two live matches every Friday from DTH platform nc+. Sunday matches will remain on the nSport+ channel. This means nc+ and Eleven will show 56 matches of the regular season, with Eleven showing 28 of those along with the chosen playoff matches (Eleven). 

UAE authorities "issued a decision banning the sales" of beIN Sports receivers in Emirati markets. Authorities "warned that any stores found selling or renewing" beIN Sports subscription cards will be fined. The move "came after Bahrain and Saudi Arabia banned the receivers on Tuesday" (GULF NEWS, 6/14).

DAZN secured the exclusive rights to broadcast Champions League football in Japan from '18-19. DAZN will become the home of the Champions League, Europa League and Super Cup from '18-19 to '20-21 in Japan (Perform Group). 

FIBA's official website, FIBA.com, became FIBA.basketball after the federation officially launched the .basketball domain name. FIBA is among the few int'l federations to have secured the Top Level Domain named after its sport (FIBA).
