Marketplace Roundup: Watford Signs Three-Year Sponsorship With FxPro

Premier League side Watford reportedly signed a three-year sponsorship deal with online brokerage FxPro. FxPro will be the front-of-shirt sponsor for the club. The broker is returning to sports sponsorships after "previously supporting Formula 1 teams BMW Sauber and Virgin Racing." The brokerage firm will be the main club partner of Watford. The agreement is the largest in the club's history (FINANCE MAGNATES, 6/13).

Hope&Glory was appointed by Great British Racing to provide PR support for its “Under 18s Go Free” summer activity. The campaign to promote the sport of horse racing to a wider "social" audience and to "encourage more families to consider a day at the races will sit across digital, social and traditional PR channels" (SPORT INDUSTRY, 6/13).

Puma announced its association with Indian actress Disha Patani at an event for Rihanna's FENTYxPUMA collection in Mumbai. Patani "comes on board as the brand's sportstyle and fitness expert for India" (UNI INDIA, 6/10).

French National Handball League (LNH) side Paris St. Germain announced IT service company Gfi Informatique Group as its front-of-jersey sponsor for the next four years. The two have been official partners since ’12. Gfi will also organize a “Kids Day” with PSG to offer children from disadvantaged neighborhoods the chance to interact with players (PSG Hand).

The French Handball Federation (FFH) extended its contract with principal partner adidas through ’21. The two have been partners since ’73. The four-year deal is reportedly worth less than €1M ($1.12M) per year. Asics and Kempa were the other brands competing for the deal (L’ÉQUIPE, 6/12).

Barcelona announced a collaboration with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in which Lionel Messi and Neymar signed a ball to launch the #SignAndPass campaign to raise awareness of the 65.3 million refugees worldwide (EL PERIÓDICO, 6/13).
