Queensland Rugby League Seeking New Sponsor For Maroons' Shirt

State of Origin side Queensland Maroons' A$42M ($31.6M) shirt is "up for sale" with the Queensland Rugby League seeking new sponsors for "one of the most powerful brands in Australian sport," according to Peter Badel of the Brisbane COURIER-MAIL. The Maroons' shirt "will become a corporate blank canvas following a sponsorship shake-up for next season." Major sponsor Suncorp "will sever ties at the end of this series, as will leading apparel supplier Canterbury," while Queensland brewer XXXX will rescind its naming rights deal for '18. Suncorp and XXXX "have become synonymous with the Maroons during the most successful era in interstate history," with Queensland having won 10 of the past 11 Origin series (COURIER-MAIL, 6/11).
