PyeongChang Olympic Games Organizers Announce IBC Handover

The Korean organizers ticked off another milestone for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games, with the official handover of the Int'l Broadcast Center. Located in the Mountain Cluster in the Alpensia resort, the IBC will serve as the primary base of operations for Olympic broadcasting services and the rights-holding broadcasters. From there, nearly 4,000 hours of images will be transmitted across the world, showcasing the PyeongChang Games to billions of viewers. Enclosed TV studios will be installed on the roof of the IBC, along with several stand-up positions, allowing broadcasters to conduct live reports featuring views of the surrounding mountains and the Alpensia village (IOC). 

TICKET PRICES: YONHAP reported the organizers of the 2018 Paralympic Games on Wednesday "announced the ticket prices for the multisport competition for disabled athletes," with the average price reaching 30,000 won ($26). The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games said that a "total of 280,000 tickets will be on sale." The organizers expect to generate 4.2B won ($3.7M) from ticket sales, with 70% of them sold in South Korea (YONHAP, 6/7).
