Facility Notes: Scottish FA Wants National Team To Remain At Hampden Park

The Scottish FA's "preferred option" is for the national team to continue to play at Hampden Park when the lease expires, but the final decision will be "based largely on cost." SFA CEO Stewart Regan revealed that the organization's board is "considering the options" on where Scotland should play from '20. Regan said, "There are financial implications should we choose to stay. There may be commercial implications of taking our games elsewhere" (BBC, 6/7).

Women's National Basketball League side Canberra Capitals will move into a A$250,000 ($188,700) new home at the National Convention Centre this year after the ACT government allocated A$125,000 ($94,350) in budget funding on Tuesday for a move from Tuggeranong to Civic. The University of Canberra, owners of the Capitals' licence, will also commit A$125,000 to the move. The court at the convention center will "likely be built in the coming months to be ready for the start of the season in October" with a capacity of 1,700 (CANBERRA TIMES, 6/6).

National League A side Lausanne Hockey Club selected AEG Facilities to manage its new state-of-the-art arena in Lausanne, Switzerland, which broke ground earlier this year and is set to open in the summer of '19. Effective immediately, AEG Facilities will be responsible for providing operations and design input during the construction-management phase of the project (AEG Facilities).

Echo Arena Liverpool struck a naming rights and supply agreement with drinks manufacturer Halewood Wines & Spirits for its new lounge space. The three-year deal will see the waterfront venue's upcoming VIP area, to be known as The Liverpool Collection Lounge, sell "a range of the craft distiller's premium spirits." A mezzanine level is currently being built within the Echo Arena's concourse. The Liverpool Collection Lounge, part of the new area, will have space for "up to 150 guests" (BDAILY, 6/6).
