Digital Agency Wunderman Acquires Real Madrid Consultant The Cocktail

PR company WPP's global digital agency, Wunderman, acquired Spanish digital transformation consultancy The Cocktail, the clients of which include Real Madrid, according to Omar Oakes of CAMPAIGN LIVE. The Cocktail, founded in '13 in Madrid, "employs over 250 people and now has offices in Mexico and Colombia." As well as Real Madrid, its client roster includes department store El Corte Inglés and Spanish banking group BBVA. Real Madrid hired The Cocktail in '12 to "expand its online reach and to maximise the profitability of its presence on the web." The agency's unaudited revenues for the year ending Dec. 31 were €16.4M, with gross assets of €14M as of the same date. The Cocktail will "continue under the current management team," led by Founder & President Alberto Knapp (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 6/5).
