Olympic Notes: Australian Olympic Committee To Reprimand Media Head Mike Tancred

Australian Olympic Committee Media Dir Mike Tancred will be "severely reprimanded" for his behavior toward former CEO Fiona de Jong, the AOC said. An independent committee "handed down its determination" into de Jong's complaint on Wednesday. The committee found that Tancred's conduct "did not rise to the level of bullying, because it was not repetitive." But the committee said that the behavior "amounted to disreputable conduct" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 5/31).

More than half a million children are set to benefit from the donation of servers following the Rio 2016 Olympics from its official networking supplier, Cisco. The technology, which was used at the 2016 Games, will now assist in the digital transformation of schools and educational laboratories in São Paulo, aiming to stimulate innovation. The equipment will be used for a connectivity project in the public schools of the state capital (IOC). 

World Shooting Para Sport announced Para Trap is an official discipline following the Int'l Paralympic Committee governing board's approval. The approval clears a path for further development and integration of the shotgun discipline into World Shooting Para Sport competitions, including the publication of the discipline's technical rules and classification rules. A two-year review of rules will begin at the first Para Trap World Cup event in Lonato, Italy, from Sept. 15-16 (IPC). 

The Int'l Wheelchair Basketball Federation Asia Oceania Zone announced the location and dates for its qualification tournament for the World Championships 2018 in Hamburg, Germany. The tournament will take place in the Chinese Paralympic Training Venue in Beijing, China, from Oct. 21-29 (IPC).
