Event Notes: French Open Officials Reopen Walkway After Finding 'Abandoned' Luggage

French Open security officers closed a section of a Roland Garros walkway on Wednesday, citing "abandoned" luggage, but "quickly re-opened it." The section affected was "situated just below Court Philippe Chatrier, the main arena of the Paris stadium where defending champion Garbine Muguruza was playing Estonian Anett Kontaveit" (REUTERS, 5/31).

Host South Korea's exit "will serve as a big blow" to ticket sales for the FIFA U20 World Cup as the organizers "hope South Koreans still fill the seats for other nations' matches." South Korea ended its U20 World Cup in the round of 16 on Tuesday after losing to Portugal 3-1 at Cheonan Sports Complex in Cheonan. South Korea drew 99,837 fans in its first three matches, accounting for 34% of total attendance for the group stage (YONHAP, 5/31).
