Franchise Notes: Fernando Alonso Will Not Consider Red Bull For '18

Fernando Alonso said that the only top Formula 1 team that he is not "considering" for next season is Red Bull. Amid McLaren-Honda's "crisis," Alonso "skipped Monaco last weekend to compete in the Indianapolis 500 and admits he could be on the move next year." Alonso said that his future "could also depend" on F1 owner Liberty Media, "amid plans to drastically expand the calendar beyond a scheduled 21 races" for '18 (AUTOWEEK, 5/30).

National League North side AFC Telford United "rejected an offer from an Irish consortium" to become majority shareholder in the club. The group, led by Irish property developer Anthony McMullen, wanted 51% control of the Shropshire club. But Telford said that it "had concerns over the investment arrangement" (BBC, 5/30).
