Marketplace Roundup: Premier League Partners With LGBT Organization Stonewall

The Premier League launched a "significant drive to tackle homophobic abuse" at matches by announcing a partnership with LGBT organization Stonewall. The initiative will "include working with police to ensure officers take a strong line in dealing with incidents of abuse." Brighton & Hove Albion’s promotion to the Premier League is "expected to focus more attention" on the issue next season as the city has a large LGBT community (LONDON TIMES, 5/15).

EPL side Southampton will be sporting a different shirt sponsor for its clash against ManU on Wednesday as it moves to "highlight discrimination that disabled people face at football grounds." Regular sponsor Virgin Media "teamed up" with disability charity Scope for the match, with the club's shirts "set to sport the charity's logo" (DAILY MIRROR, 5/12).

McLaren Applied Technologies and Deloitte announced the launch of a new partnership. The two firms will collaborate to build data-driven business products. The joint partnership will aim to create products that can provide more than £1B ($1.29B) in annual benefits for clients by '22 (McLaren).

FIFA and Russian company Megalicense Entertainment signed an agreement for Megalicense to manage the retail and licensing program of the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2018 World Cup. Megalicense was selected as part of a tender process that was held among five Russian companies (FIFA).
