Anthony Joshua's Proposed Rematch With Klitschko May Happen In Las Vegas

Anthony Joshua’s proposed rematch with Wladimir Klitschko looks "certain to take place abroad, with Las Vegas the most likely destination," according to Ron Lewis of the LONDON TIMES. Klitschko has yet to "decide whether he will invoke the rematch clause" in the contract from last month’s world heavyweight title clash and is "unlikely to announce his decision for another three weeks." Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, is expecting the 41-year-old former champion to "force a second bout, probably in November." That would "rule out" Wembley and the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Overtures have been made to stage the bout in Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Stadium or in Dubai, but a "more likely option could be Vegas," in the MGM Grand Garden Arena or the T-Mobile Arena. Joshua is "likely to be ordered" to defend his Int'l Boxing Federation title against Kubrat Pulev but Hearn is "hopeful that the IBF will allow him to face Klitschko first" (LONDON TIMES, 5/15).
