Paul Pogba's world record transfer to ManU is "being probed" by FIFA amid claims his agent is set to earn a "staggering" £41M ($53M) out of the deal, according to Ben Rumsby of the London TELEGRAPH. FIFA confirmed it had "requested additional information" about Pogba's £89M move to Old Trafford last summer following the "publication of details from a forthcoming book" which investigated the midfielder's summer re-signing from Juventus. The book, Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football, by Der Spiegel journalists Rafael Buschmann and Michael Wulzinger, claims Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, is in line for a £23M ($29.8M) "slice of the transfer fee." A FIFA spokesperson said, "We can confirm that FIFA/Transfer Matching System has requested additional information on transfer from what is already available in TMS." A ManU spokesperson said, "We don't comment on contracts" (TELEGRAPH, 5/9). In London, David Conn wrote reports based on extracts from documents and contracts relating to Pogba’s move "allege that Raiola, always described in media reports as Pogba's own agent, was also employed by Juventus before the player's move," to engineer a sale at the "best possible price." Some reports have said that ManU engaged Raiola at the same time, "paying another very large fee, to help secure the signing of Pogba." Raiola is said to have "also worked for Pogba himself as his agent, to negotiate his new salary package" when he joined ManU (GUARDIAN, 5/9). In London, Paul Hirst reported Raiola also acts for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who made a £26.3M move to ManU from Borussia Dortmund in July. According to Football Leaks, Raiola had an agreement with Dortmund that he would "receive a cut of the fee if Mkhitaryan was sold and he would also pocket a fee if he stayed at the club" (LONDON TIMES, 5/10).
