DIEGO MARADONA has been appointed technical director of UAE Division One side Al-Fujairah. The former Argentina national team coach's last post in management "also came in the UAE," with top-flight side Al Wasl, but he was sacked in July '12 (London GUARDIAN, 5/7). ... League Championship side Blackburn Rovers Dir PAUL SENIOR resigned "following the club's demotion to League One." Senior quit his post "after just 123 days in the job." It comes with Blackburn owner Venky's "not actively seeking to sell the club" and Manager TONY MOWBRAY "preparing for talks on his own future" (LONDON TIMES, 5/8). ... DAVID BERTRAM is leaving JMI Sports and his role as VP of Campus Marketing & Digital Media for UK Sports & Campus Marketing to launch Bertram Marketing Group. Bertram Marketing Group will provide business development services for companies seeking to enter the collegiate marketing space, specifically technology companies with innovative solutions for athletics (JMI Sports). ... Two Hawke's Bay Rugby Football Union members "resigned less than a week after the resignations of fellow board members" SIMON TREMAIN and TAINE RANDELL. KEVIN ATKINSON and DAN DRUZIANIC announced their decision to step down and said that a "governance overhaul" was the only way forward for the union. Atkinson said that the four resigning board members "attempted to make changes for a number of years but their patience had been stretched to the point there was no other option but step down" (HAWKES BAY TODAY, 5/8).
