Football Leaks Detail $1.1B Deal Between Adidas, Real Madrid

Adidas will pay Real Madrid a "massive" £850M ($1.1B) over the next 10 years as details of "one of sport's biggest sponsorship deals" were released by German magazine Der Spiegel, according to Ben Nagle of the London DAILY MAIL. Although not officially announced, the Football Leaks information details a €1B ($1.1B) contract between '15 and '24, in which the club receives an annual fixed payment of £59M ($76.4M). On top of that, Real Madrid will earn 22.5% of all sales on club-branded adidas merchandise, "which totals around" £25M ($32.4M) each calendar year. The club will be "motivated by a series of incentives," according to the German publication, in which adidas will "cough up multi-million pound figures should certain targets be reached" (DAILY MAIL, 5/6).
