Newcastle United Reportedly Finalizes Sponsorship From Chinese Company

League Championship side Newcastle United is "on the brink of announcing" a new sponsor, according to Lee Ryder of CHRONICLE LIVE. It is understood that the club agreed to a deal with a Chinese company which will have its name "emblazoned across the club's new kit next season." The Chinese investors are reportedly an "online betting firm and have agreed a big money deal with Newcastle." Details of the length of the contract and value of the deal "will be unveiled by United in the next week." The new sponsorship deal comes "on the back of a successful business trip" arranged by Managing Dir Lee Charnley and the club's commercial team. The trip also involved "talk of a summer tour in China." The new sponsors will not "see any renaming issues crop up" at St. James' Park (CHRONICLE LIVE, 5/5).
