The Scottish FA defended itself "following criticism from Celtic over Scottish Cup final ticket allocations." Celtic said that it was "very disappointed" over "potentially" being allocated 700 tickets fewer than Aberdeen for the match on May 27. The SFA said that one reason for this is because of the number of seats in the club's "preferred" East Stand. The SFA added that ticket allocation had been handled in "full consultation" with clubs (BBC, 5/6).
The "confusion" over the future of India's domestic football structure "looks set to continue" as a meeting between top All India Football Federation officials and representatives of I-League clubs Mohun Bagan and East Bengal on Saturday ended "without any decision of consequence." While an AIFF release said that "the revised roadmap of India football has not yet been finalised," officials of the two clubs said that the "sticking point" was the I-League being the qualifier for the Asian club tournaments (ESPN.com, 5/6).
Serie A side Pescara player Sulley Muntari had the one-match ban he "received after protesting against racist abuse overturned." The midfielder "left the field after being booked" in a game at Cagliari on April 30 for complaining of "being abused." The Italian Football Federation said that it had considered the "particular delicacy" of the case (BBC, 5/6).
Italian football "raced another racism controversy" on Sunday after Juventus defender Medhi Benatia cut short a post-match TV interview, saying that he "heard an insult in his earpiece." The Moroccan defender was being interviewed by state broadcaster Rai on its program, Champagne Football, following a 1-1 draw with Torino and "was talking to a presenter in the studio when the incident happened" (REUTERS, 5/7).
