Legal Proceedings In DIS Case Regarding Neymar's Transfer Move Forward

Legal proceedings against those accused in the DIS case surrounding Neymar's transfer to Barcelona "have moved forward" and a bail of €3.4M ($3.7M) has been set by Judge José de la Mata, according to MARCA. The amount has been derived from the prosecutor's accusations of fraud and corruption and "will have to be paid jointly between the accused," including Neymar, the player's parents, current Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu, former President Sandro Rosell, the club itself and Brasileiro side Santos. De la Mata "has not yet announced the date of the trial" (MARCA, 5/4).

SEPARATE CASE: SPORT reported Bartomeu and former Barcelona exec Toni Freixa "were called to testify on June 9 in Barcelona in a fraud case brought by investors in the Vial Projectes Xe Futur organization." Barcelona allegedly received €1M from Vial to build a "memorial ground" at Camp Nou. The project was not completed (SPORT, 5/4).
