Media Notes: Monaco Raises Snapchat Profile For Champions League Semifinal

For Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal between Monaco and Juventus, Monaco “raised its presence on Snapchat by launching filters with club colors.” The face filter was available for all France-based Snapchat users on Tuesday, but was only accessible at Monaco’s Louis II Stadium "during the match.” The filter allowed users to “paint their face in the colors of the club,” a feature already used by several European clubs. Snapchat also created a “geo-filter” available at Louis II Stadium with the words “Allez Monaco” ("Go Monaco") (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 5/3).

The Int'l Cricket Council launched its new mobile app with a host of features for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2017 to be held in England and Wales from June 1-18. The app will offer coverage all year across all current and upcoming series and tournaments (ICC). 

The British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand will be carried by Welsh broadcaster S4C. An agreement with Sky Sports will see free-to-air highlights coverage of each game in the Welsh language. S4C will broadcast highlights of all 10 fixtures including the three Test matches against the back-to-back world champion (WALES ONLINE, 5/3).

Int'l pay-TV equestrian sports and lifestyle network Horse & Country TV announced it joined the channel line-up on Telenor-owned Bredbandsbolaget in Sweden. The channel, which is already on Boxer, Com Hem, Canal Digital, Sappa, Sydantenn and IP Sweden, also serves audiences in the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and Australia (H&C). 

Media group Elang Mahtoka Teknologi subsidiary Kreatif Media Karaya obtained the broadcasting rights to show NBA games on Indonesian TV. The new deal "provides basketball fans across the archipelago with access to watch 240 NBA games this season on local television stations Indosiar and O-Channel and web streaming platforms Vidio.com and Bola.com" (JAKARTA GLOBE, 5/3).
