Franchise Notes: Tottenham Asks Stadium Foe For White Hart Lane Time Capsule

Tottenham Hotspur asked the company that tried to block its new £800M ($1B) stadium -- Archway Sheet Metal -- to "make the time capsule to commemorate White Hart Lane." As part of the events planned to mark Tottenham’s departure from White Hart Lane after the final home game of the season, the club "announced a time capsule will be buried at a point of overlap between the old and new stadia." Tottenham is "in the process of deciding what exactly will be put in the time capsule," but offered the contract to design and make it to Archway Steel (London TELEGRAPH, 5/3).

Team Sky "suffered another body blow" in its attempts to rebuild its brand after it suspended Gianni Moscon for six weeks for racially abusing FDJ’s Kévin Reza. The incident occurred after Friday’s stage three of the Tour de Romandie, which was won by Sky’s Elia Viviani, and has "led to the Italian being handed a formal written warning." Despite the allegations Sky "chose not to withdraw the 23-year-old from the race, which concluded on Sunday" (London GUARDIAN, 5/1).

ManU will "travel to Norway for a pre-season friendly against five-time national champion Valerenga in Oslo this summer." Valerenga will host ManU at the Ullevaal Stadion on July 30. ManU travels to the U.S. before that, taking on Major League Soccer sides L.A. Galaxy and Real Salt Lake, before Int'l Champions Cup matches against Man City, Real Madrid and Barcelona (SKY SPORTS, 5/3).

Premiership club Bath is "planning disciplinary hearings" after allegations that some of its players "ran naked across the Recreation Ground pitch at a post-training social event last week." A fire extinguisher was also "allegedly let off in a hospitality suite." This reportedly occurred in daylight, "before a kicking clinic for youngsters" (BBC, 5/3).
