He denied the allegations (BBC, 5/2). ... British Paralympic swimming champion SUSIE RODGERS announced her retirement after a six-year int'l career. Rodgers, 33, won S7 50m butterfly Gold at the Rio 2016 Paralympics, also claiming 50m and 400m freestyle Bronze (BBC, 5/2). ... History was made for New Zealand in Major League Baseball on Tuesday when Paraparaumu-born ANDY SKEELS stepped in as the San Francisco Giants assistant hitting coach for the team's game against the L.A. Dodgers. It is believed it made him the "first kiwi-born player or coach to strip for an MLB game" (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 5/3).
