Inter Milan Among Three Teams That Missed UEFA Spending Targets This Season

UEFA said that Inter Milan "missed spending targets set by UEFA for this season under break-even rules," according to Brian Homewood of REUTERS. As a result, the club, along with Turkish sides Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor, "will continue to be subject to limits on squad size and transfers if they qualify for European competition next season." UEFA said that the three clubs had "only partially fulfilled the targets set for season 2016-17" under Financial Fair Play rules which are designed to "prevent clubs from irresponsible spending sprees." UEFA said that Paris St. Germain and Man City "have reached targets set under an agreement" in '14 and been "freed of all restrictions," as has Croatian champion Dinamo Zagreb (REUTERS, 4/21).
