Event Notes: Turkey's Istanbul Park Poised To Return To Formula 1 Calendar

Turkey’s Istanbul Park "is poised to return to the Formula 1 calendar," according to the businessman who operates the venue, after a meeting between F1 CEO Chase Carey and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Also present at the meeting were track operator Vural Ak and the head of Turkey’s motorsport governing body, Serkan Yazici. Ak confirmed that a deal -- although not signed -- was "agreed in principle" (MOTORSPORT, 4/11).

The Irish FA has been criticized over a 33% increase on adult ticket prices for this year's Irish Cup Final. Finalist Linfield "strongly objected to the decision, which means adult tickets have gone up" from £15 ($18.79) to £20 ($25). Ticket prices for the final "were set by the Challenge Cup Committee of the Irish FA," which the IFA said is "made up of representatives of clubs" (BBC, 4/12).

What "is expected" to be Tottenham's final game at White Hart Lane has been moved to a Sunday afternoon kickoff. Tottenham was originally scheduled to host ManU on May 13 at 3pm but the game "has been picked" for TV coverage and will now take place on May 14 at 4:30pm (London EVENING STANDARD, 4/12).
