COBX Gaming Will Sponsor Indian Esports Tournament With 10M Rupee Prize Pool

COBX Gaming announced its "first set of planned investment" in Indian esports, according to Deepak of TALK ESPORT. The COBX Indian Esports Championship features two game titles -- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Defense of the Ancients 2 -- and will launch online on April 28. The tournament will be conducted in two different phases, open qualifiers and playoffs. The top eight teams from the qualifiers will compete against each other in the playoffs, beginning May 1. The registrations will be free. The first phase "will follow a single-elimination bracket system with the best of one for the first few rounds." The playoffs "will follow a double-elimination rule along with the best of three matchups," and run through May 15. The total prize pool of COBX Gaming's championship is set at 10M rupees ($154,850), "divided equally for both the games." A total of 512 teams can register in the first season (TALK ESPORT, 4/8).
