Media Notes: FIBA Renews With Israel's The Sports Channel For '17-21 Cycle

FIBA announced it signed a renewal agreement with The Sports Channel in Israel for the '17-21 cycle of FIBA events. The agreement covers the men's FIBA EuroBasket 2017, World Cup 2019 qualifiers and finals as well as the FIBA EuroBasket Cup 2021 qualifiers and finals. The Sports Channel will broadcast games from the '17, '19 and '21 editions of the FIBA EuroBasket Women and FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018. It will also broadcast the final stages of the FIBA Youth World Championships (FIBA). 

Ghanaian telecom MTN partnered with Econet Media’s Kwesé TV, Africa's newest multi-platform pay-TV network. MTN Ghana subscribers "will be able to stream Kwesé TV’s programming including live action" from the NBA, Premier League, Brazilian football and other sports leagues (MY NEWS GH, 4/6).

German car and motorsport channel Motorvision TV is "now available on German OTT platform TV.de operated by social TV provider Couchfunk." Motorvision TV is the "first pay-TV channel within subscription package Pro TV." TV.de is "accessible through its website and as an app for Apple TV, iOS, Android and Windows" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 4/6).

Sports news video agency SNTV announced that it launched SNTV Live, a sports video solution which will provide coverage of scheduled sports news events. SNTV is a joint venture between the AP and IMG. SNTV's pre-planned live video content will be available to view and book through the AP Video Hub platform, with delivery via AP Live Choice (SNTV). 

SPORT1 will broadcast live coverage and highlights from the FIA World Endurance Championship 2017, while also streaming full races live on its website alongside selected broadcasts on its pay-TV channel SPORT1+. Infront Sports & Media will handle the worldwide media rights distribution of the FIA WEC 2017 season (Infront). 

U.K.-based sports radio station talkSPORT "signed a three-year agreement with Radio Africa Group" to bring live Premier League audio commentary to Kenya for the next three seasons, starting with the remainder of the '16-17 season. Premier League fans in Kenya will be "able to listen to official, live commentary of the EPL in English and Swahili" (THE STAR, 4/6).
