Finance Notes: Scottish Champ To Earn Less Than Half As Much As EFL Winner

The winner of this year's Scottish Cup will "land less than half the prize money" League One side Coventry City received for "lifting" the English Football League Trophy. Scotland's premier cup competition reached the semifinal stage with Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Hibernian "still fighting it out." The "triumphant" Scottish side will earn "just" £114,000 ($141,900) for its "run from the last 32," compared to the "bumper" £260,000 ($323,600) Coventry City earned "thanks to a journey from the same stage" (DAILY RECORD, 4/4).

The FA of Malaysia is in a "major financial crisis," according to FAM President Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim. Tunku Ismail said that FAM's financial situation "could hamper his efforts" to carry out development programs and the "changes aspired by the fans and the people." He said, "On the first day I had entered the FAM in my official capacity as president, oozing with confidence and ideas, ready to rock and roll. So, I started checking everything, I got all the files, I got everybody coming up to me ... FAM has no money" (NEW STRAITS TIMES, 4/4).
