Man City hopes to "drastically reduce" its overall spending by recouping around £100M ($125M) through player sales during the close season as Manager Pep Guardiola prepares for the "busiest summer of his managerial career," according to James Ducker of the London TELEGRAPH. Guardiola will "listen to offers" for Joe Hart, Samir Nasri, Eliaquim Mangala, Wilfried Bony and Jason Denayer, all five of whom are currently on loan, in addition to Fernando and Vincent Kompany. The transfer fees Man City stands to earn through sales "could vary dramatically depending on where players go" and a £100M return "may be optimistic given the prohibitive nature of several players' wages to would-be suitors." But the club anticipates its gross spending "will be heavily offset by sales and considerable space cleared on the wage bill for new recruits." Man City, for example, "would be prepared to allow Hart to leave for a smaller sum if he moved overseas than to a Premier League rival," which would have to pay in excess of £20M ($25M) for the 29-year-old England goalkeeper, currently on loan at Torino and contracted until June '19. Mangala, currently on loan at Valencia, and Nasri, who has been at Sevilla this season, are valued at £25.5M ($31.8M) and £21.3M ($26.6M), respectively (TELEGRAPH, 4/3).
