Marketplace Roundup: Sky Acquires Digital Content Producer Diagonal View

Sky acquired Diagonal View, a social content producer known for online channels including Alltime10s and The Football Daily. The broadcaster "is looking to broaden its engagement with younger, so-called digital first audiences," and give Sky Media an outlet for "offering brand-safe digital opportunities to advertisers" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 3/31).

Ligue 1 side Girondins de Bordeaux signed a two-year deal with Bistro Régent for the restaurant chain to become the team’s jersey sponsor at the start of the ’17-18 season. The Bistro Régent logo will be located on the back for away matches and on the chest for home games (SUD OUEST, 3/30).

La Liga side Sevilla named medical manufacturer Carburos Metálicos a partner. The club will receive a cryogenic chamber and consulting from Carburos Metálicos (Sevilla).

McLaren-Honda F1 named Star Sports India a corporate partner in an agreement that will include the production of exclusive viewer content and fan competitions. McLaren-Honda and Star Sports India will work together to create content, including exclusive interviews, for its TV and digital channels. Star Sports India branding will be displayed on the overalls of drivers Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren-Honda).

Australian Football League side Adelaide Crows signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with China Southern Airlines. The airline will be prominent across the club's digital platform, as well as home matchdays. CSA will also sponsor Adelaide's coaches (Adelaide Crows).

The Zimbabwe Open golf tournament has a new sponsor, financial institute Old Mutual. The tournament "was doubtful this year after its main sponsors Delta Beverages, through their Golden Pilsener brand, decided not to renew their marriage" (THE HERALD, 3/31).
