Event Notes: Kilmarnock (Barassie) To Stage Scottish Open Qualifier

Kilmarnock (Barassie) will stage this year’s qualifier for the Scottish Open. The two-round event, supported by Aberdeen Asset Management and VisitScotland, takes place on July 8 and 9 and will see four players secure spots in the £7M ($8.7M) event at neighboring Dundonald Links the following week. A prize fund of £30,000 ($37,400) will also be "up for grabs" (SCOTSMAN, 3/30).

EPL side West Ham’s London derby with Tottenham has been moved to a Friday night, "with a heavy police presence expected over fears rival fans will clash." The game will now take place on May 5 and is "likely to attract extra security at the London Stadium given the crowd trouble there in derbies earlier in the season." Chelsea and West Ham fans clashed in October "when the Hammers knocked the Blues out of the EFL Cup" (London INDEPENDENT, 3/30).
