The classification system for British track and field Para-athletes "could be abused" and is "open to exploitation," according to a UK Athletics review. The review found a "wide consensus" among those with experience of the system that rules could be exploited, also identifying methods of doing so. It follows claims before the Rio 2016 Paralympics that "classifications could be manipulated to boost medal chances" (BBC, 3/21).
BMW is "among the manufacturers that has been accepted by the FIA to become powertrain providers for seasons five, six and seven in Formula E." The German brand is "among the list of nine manufacturers that submitted plans to the FIA in February and have subsequently had them accepted." Among the others to have been accepted are: ABT Formel E, Mahindra, Renault, Jaguar Land Rover, NEXT EV, Penske Autosport and Venturi (MOTORSPORT, 3/21).
Super Rugby side ACT Brumbies issued "a call to arms" to rugby fans in Canberra, asking them to "show their support for the franchise by turning out for this weekend's match." The Brumbies take on the Otago Highlanders on Saturday "against the backdrop of uncertainty surrounding the make-up of Super Rugby next season." Although a final decision has yet to be made, "proposals have been put forward" which would see Australia lose one or more of its five franchises (REUTERS, 3/21).
