Finance Notes: Nigerian Football Clubs To Go Public By Third Quarter

Nigerian football clubs are "set to list on the on the NASD OTC Securities Exchange" by the third quarter. NASD OTC Securities Exchange Managing Dir & CEO Bola Ajomale said, "We are opening up an opportunity for the clubs to access private funding as required and use such funds in improving the fortunes of the club. The first club should be in the OTC market by third quarter." Kano Pillars, Enyima, Shooting Stars, Enugu Rangers, MFM, Wikki Tourists, Gombe United and El-Kanemi Warriors "are the first set of clubs that have been shortlisted for the exercise" (Nigeria DAILY TRUST, 3/16).

Ad agency M&C Saatchi's pre-tax profits fell 8.4% year-on-year to £6.5M in the year to Dec. 31, 2016 in the U.K. In the company's financial results published Thursday, the U.K.-based business "continued to be hit" by "restructuring costs" of £1.6M in the last year. Operating profit "also dropped" 12% to £5.5M (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 3/16).
