Great Britain's double Olympic Gold Medalist JOANNA ROWSELL SHAND announced her retirement from int'l cycling. The 28-year-old track cyclist won Gold in team pursuit at London 2012 and Rio 2016. Shand was a five-time world and four-time European champion (BBC, 3/14). ... Real Madrid player CRISTIANO RONALDO "got his hands dirty at the opening of a new CR7 gym on Monday." The five-time Ballon d'Or winner "already tried his hand at being a hotelier, and he has now moved into the world of fitness with a new location in Madrid." He was in attendance as he unveiled his new "CR7 Crunch Fitness" gym in the Cuidad Lineal district of Madrid (London DAILY MAIL, 3/14). ... Arsenal Manager ARSÈNE WENGER's "right-hand man," BORO PRIMORAC, is "set to quit the club -- sparking fresh doubts" over whether Wenger will be leaving this summer. Primorac has been Wenger’s "closest ally at the Emirates for the past 20 years but he is ready to take up the offer of a job in Turkey" (THE SUN, 3/14). ... Pakistani cricketer MOHAMMAD IRFAN was "provisionally suspended on Tuesday as part of an anti-corruption investigation into the Pakistan Super League." The 34-year-old, who has represented Pakistan in all forms of int'l cricket, "has been charged with two violations of the Pakistan Cricket Board's anti-corruption code and has 14 days to respond to the charge" (REUTERS, 3/14).

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
