ROBBIE HENCHMAN has been promoted to SVP, int'l strategic partnerships at IMG and will move from Singapore to London in June. Previously SVP and head of IMG's Asia-Pacific business, Henchman will retain oversight of his regional teams in Australia, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. Henchman will work closely with LOU KOSKOVOLIS and the U.S. operations and assets including UFC and Professional Bull Riders (IMG). ... The Australian Olympic Committee appointed former rugby union administrator MATT CARROLL as its CEO. Carroll was GM for the 2003 Rugby World Cup hosted by Australia and "worked as an executive adviser to Japan Rugby in the early stages of preparations for the 2019 Rugby World Cup." He also has held roles in football and in sailing, "including as head of Australia's A-League." The AOC announced the appointment in a statement Monday, and said that Carroll's experience working in Japan "would have benefits as the AOC prepared for the next three Olympics in Asia" (AP, 3/12). ... DIARMUID CROWLEY announced on LinkedIn that he was named CCO of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) (SBD Global).

COACHES/MANAGERS: STEVE MCCLAREN was on Sunday night sacked by League Championship side Derby County "for the second time in less than two years after a five-month second spell." McClaren returned to Derby last October, following his May '15 dismissal. Bookmakers made former Derby defender GARY ROWETT, previously manager of Burton Albion and Birmingham City, an early favorite for the job (PA, 3/12). ... League Championship side Wigan Athletic "parted company" with Manager WARREN JOYCE "after only four months." The club lost 1-0 at home to Bristol City on Saturday "to leave them four points from safety with nine games remaining." Assistant Manager GRAHAM BARROW will "take charge for the rest of the season" (BBC, 3/13).
