JOHN SURTEES, the only man to win the Formula 1 and motorcycle grand prix titles died, aged 83. Surtees, who won the F1 title in '64 to add to his 500cc motorcycle world titles from '56, '58, '59 and '60, "passed away peacefully" (London TELEGRAPH, 3/10). 

'DISRESPECTFUL': Former World No. 1 CAROLINE WOZNIACKI said that MARIA SHARAPOVA's wildcard entry to April's Porsche Grand Prix is "disrespectful" to other players. The Stuttgart event "starts two days before the Russian's 15-month doping ban ends and she will not be allowed to attend until the day of her match." Wozniacki: "Obviously rules are twisted and turned in favor of who wants to do what. I think everyone deserves a second chance ... but at the same time, I feel like when a player is banned for drugs, I think that someone should start from the bottom and fight their way back" (BBC, 3/12).
