Facility Notes: Brentford Allowed To Use Terraced Areas At Griffin Park

League Championship side Brentford has been "given dispensation to continue making use of terraced areas of Griffin Park next season." The club has been informed it can "retain the Ealing Road Terrace and Brook Road Terrace by the Sports Ground Safety Authority." Clubs promoted to the Championship "are given three years to convert terraces to seated areas, something Brentford would not have been able to do without a significant decrease in capacity" (SKY SPORTS, 3/7).

Work on a "much-awaited" sports and recreational center in Dunoon, South Africa, which was expected to be completed two years ago, "is at a standstill." In Jan. '14, the City of Cape Town announced that the construction of the R16.5m multi-use sports center "was at an advanced stage and progressing well." But two years later, the clubhouse and changing rooms "remain incomplete, with toilets and showers yet to be installed." The football field is "not being used and is currently very dry due to the water crisis" (ALL AFRICA, 3/7).
