Marketplace Roundup: FILA To Sponsor Dutch Olympic Team

The Netherlands Olympic team will be wearing FILA sportswear "at the upcoming Winter and Summer Olympics in Asia." FILA, a listed Korean sports fashion company, has agreed to sponsor the Netherlands Olympic athletes until '22. The deal will see the Dutch players compete in FILA sportswear at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Games and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing (KOREA TIMES, 2/27).

A gambling body that sponsors Australian Football League side Collingwood "raised concerns" about the club's new A$2M ($1.54M) weekly lottery. The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, one of Collingwood's major partners, confirmed it was "in talks with club chiefs about the Magpie Millions lotto game." Collingwood and eight other AFL clubs "have six-­figure sponsorship deals with the VRGF and in return have signed a charter pledging to help minimise the harm of gambling and young people's exposure to it" (HERALD SUN, 2/27).

La Liga side Valencia reached an agreement with GVC Holdings, the ownership group for the bwin brand, for the online betting company to become a partner of the club through June '18. As part of the agreement, the bwin brand will have a presence on the digital TV-specific advertising hoardings at Mestalla Stadium and on the Valencia official website, social media accounts and digital platforms (Valencia).

Paris St. Germain esports and French betting company PMU announced a partnership agreement. PMU’s newly-launched PMU eSport brand will be an official partner of PSG esports. PMU eSport will support PSG esports players and events and offer fans and organizers statistical content (PSG).

French national gambling operator FDJ and the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) renewed their partnership for four seasons. FDJ has been an official partner of the FFBB since ’09. FDJ will continue to be an official provider of the men’s and women’s France national teams as well as the Women’s Basketball League through ’20 (FFBB).
