A dispute over TV broadcasting rights "saw a match in the Brazilian Campeonato Paranaense on Sunday called off at the last moment." The game between Atlético Paranaense and Coritiba "was due to be broadcast via Facebook and YouTube after dissatisfaction with the amount that broadcaster PRC was willing to pay" the clubs for the TV rights. But referee Paulo Roberto Alves Jr. was told to postpone the game just before kickoff after the competition's ruling body declared that media personnel did not "have the correct accreditation" (ESPN.com, 2/19).
Most TV channels from the Czech Republic’s Nova Group will "no longer be distributed via cable and satellite in Slovakia from March 1." According to Parabola, there will be a total of five channels withdrawn (TV Nova, Nova Cinema, Nova Action, Nova 2 and Nova Gold), while three (Nova Int'l, Nova Sport 1 and Nova Sport) will still be available. The move "parallels one undertaken by TV Nova’s Slovak counterpart Markiza in the Czech Republic" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/16).
The Uruguayan FA (AUF) hired broadcaster Mediapro to "advise the AUF on sponsorship and TV rights, as well as on various aspects of the national team's friendlies and tours." The AUF said that the objective "is to learn the value of AUF assets in the current market" (PALCO23, 2/20).
After ClaroVideo users complained over the weekend about issues with the broadcast of Saturday's Liga MX match between Chivas Guadalajara and América, "the platform announced that its site was overwhelmed with demand, and people who have made complaints will not be charged" (LA AFICIÓN, 2/19).
