Facility Notes: Essex Cricket Club To Be Renamed Cloudfm County Ground

Essex Cricket Club announced that its ground will be renamed as The Cloudfm County Ground in a three-year partnership with a local firm. Cloudfm is a fast-growing facilities management company based in Colchester. The Essex County Ground will be completely rebranded (IPSWICH STAR, 2/13).

The playing field at ANZ Stadium "is said to be in good condition for Saturday night's Sydney A-League derby despite hosting two major rock concerts last weekend." The venue has "allayed fears that one of the biggest games of the season will be played on a sub-par playing surface," suggesting the field received minimal damage following two Guns N' Roses concerts. Despite the "extreme heat on Friday and Saturday and massive combined attendances of more than 100,000" at the concerts, a protective foam layer beneath the temporary Terraplas flooring "prevented damage to the field, according to ANZ Stadium general manager Greg Sleigh" (THE AGE, 2/13).
