Fox Sports Launching National Rugby League Channel In Brisbane

Fox Sports will launch its new rugby league channel in Brisbane as part of a "concerted push to win the support of Queensland fans," according to Robert Craddock of the Brisbane COURIER-MAIL. Operation Queensland is a "firm focus" of the new 24-hour league channel, Fox League. Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delany said, "Kicking off the new Fox League channel in Brisbane shows we are more serious about Queensland than ever before, and we are listening to what fans want." Fox will "send the stars of its league coverage on an eight-day trip around Queensland in the lead-up to the season to rouse interest in the new channel." Fox Sports has "yet to release details of a raft of new shows but it is believed several have a strong Queensland flavour" (COURIER-MAIL, 2/11).
