Marketplace Roundup: Sauber F1 Announces Erreà Sport Partnership

The Sauber F1 team announced Erreà Sport as an official partner. Erreà is an Italian company specializing in technical sportswear. For the '17 Formula 1 season, Erreà will equip Sauber with specially designed teamwear as well as travel gear. It will also distribute selected official team collection articles for merchandising purposes. Besides the brand visibility on the team and travel gear, the logo can also be seen on the headrest of the Sauber C36-Ferrari (Sauber F1).

Online bookmaker Betway signed a "seven-figure three-year deal" with Aintree Racecourse to become the official betting partner of the Grand National Festival. This year's three-day meeting runs from April 6-8 (LIVERPOOL ECHO, 2/8).

Vodafone Turkey extended its sponsorship agreement with Turkish football club Beşiktaş. The new deal is worth $10M and covers the '17-18 and '18-19 seasons. The company's sponsorship of the football club "reaches a value" of $25M for five years. The operator's previous infrastructure investment in the Vodafone Arena, the home stadium of the team, "so far exceeded" $10M (TELECOMPAPER, 2/8).

Argentine football club Asociación Deportiva Centenario "unveiled a new shirt with space for 50 sponsors." ADC is "chasing a place in the record books by upping the logo capacity" on its blue and white jerseys by 50%. Last year, the club had 34 companies' branding "emblazoned across the front and back" of its tops but, "with a Guinness World Record in sight, even that was deemed insufficient" (London DAILY MAIL, 2/8).

JDG Sport "secured new Super League title sponsor BetFred as a client ahead of the upcoming rugby league season." BetFred will "take up a significant partnership package" on Love Rugby League, JDG's "leading in-house publication which has been established for 11 years." The deal will focus on the immediate activation of BetFred’s Super League sponsorship (PROLIFIC NORTH, 2/8).

Serie A side Bologna "renewed its main and shirt sponsorship deal" with Faac for another season. The Italian producer of automatic door openers "has been a partner of the club since '15." Faac pays an estimated €1.5M ($1.6M) for the rights (SPONSORs, 2/8).

Second Bundesliga side Union Berlin extended its deal with beer brand Berliner Pilsner for another five years. The longtime partner signed a new deal with the club until '22. Berliner Pilsner has been a partner of Union Berlin since the '00-01 season (Union Berlin).

French parcel delivery service DPD France signed a two-year sponsorship deal with French tennis players Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert. The DPD France logo was shown on the sleeve of the two players for the first time during their Davis Cup doubles match against Japan on Saturday (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 2/8).

South African football club Kaizer Chiefs announced a "new transport sponsorship" deal with car manufacturer Toyota. Toyota replaces Nissan as Chiefs' transport partner (TIMES LIVE, 2/8).

The S-League "received a financial boost from its long-term partner" Great Eastern. The local insurance firm is backing Singapore's only professional sports league through the '18 season, "bringing the partnership to a decade." While no exact financial figures were revealed, Great Eastern's prior two-year extension through '16 was worth $730,000 per season (ASIA SPONSORSHIP NEWS, 2/8).
