Franchise Notes: Winding-Up Petition Against Notts County Ladies Adjourned For 49 Days

A "winding-up petition" against Women's Super League One club Notts County Ladies has been "adjourned for 49 days." Notts appeared in court on Monday over debts with U.K. tax authority HM Revenue & Customs, after a document posted on the Companies House website on Dec. 13 "suggested the ladies team could be dissolved." New Owner Alan Hardy, who completed his takeover of the club on Jan. 11, attended Monday morning's hearing (BBC, 2/6).

Australian Football League side Hawthorn announced that it "employed recruiting firm Pacific Search Partners to help find" the club's next CEO. The Hawks are looking to replace Stuart Fox, "who was late last year appointed Stephen Gough's replacement" as CEO of the Melbourne Cricket Club. Fox will take on the role in March. While former Hawthorn football manager and current AFL GM of Football Operations Mark Evans has been "warming as favourite to return to the club and take on the role," the Hawks have decided to outsource the project (THE AGE, 2/6).

The NFL Jacksonville Jaguars "announced that they will be sending the winners of the second annual Jaguars Se7ens Cup tournament to Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis." The Jaguars Se7ens Cup tournament "kicks off" in London and Manchester in September. The tournament will launch with a "festival of football" in Manchester on Sept. 2 (SKY SPORTS, 2/3).
