Marketplace Roundup: Huawei Opens Customer Service Center In Madrid

Chinese telecom Huawei on Friday opened its "first customer service center in Spain." The new center in Madrid expects to "make 1,000 repairs per month." Huawei will "in the next week" open another customer service center in Málaga. The Chinese brand sponsors Paris St. Germain and will sponsor the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, among others, and was considered a candidate to become Barcelona's shirt sponsor before Rakuten landed that deal (MARCA, 2/3).

Snow making technology company TechnoAlpin was named the official supplier to three World Para Snow Sports Championships in '17. The World Para Alpine Skiing Championships in Tarvisio, Italy, was the first to benefit, with the next being the World Para Snowboard Championships in Big White, Canada, which started Saturday. The final event included in the partnership will be the World Para Nordic Skiing Championships in Finsterau, Germany, from Feb. 10-19 (IPC). 

Hard Yakka has been appointed the official uniform provider for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. The company will supply 15,000 uniforms for volunteers, officials and Queen’s Baton Relay participants (BANDT, 2/3). 

GAC Pindar signed a deal with the Volvo Ocean Race. The '17-18 edition will be the second consecutive time that GAC serves as the official logistics provider for the race. The group's marine sport and leisure logistics specialist, GAC Pindar, will work closely with GAC offices around the world (Volvo Ocean Race). 

Kap7 Int'l announced a partnership with European Swimming League (LEN). Kap7 will be the provider of water polo balls for all 52 countries in LEN competitions (Kap7).
