ManU FA Cup Match Dominates TV Ratings, Drawing 5.3 Million On BBC One

ManU "dominated the weekend’s TV viewing figures for live FA Cup fourth round ties," according to Ian Tuckey of THE SUN. Around 5.3 million BBC One viewers saw José Mourinho’s men beat League Championship side Wigan 4-0 -- while just 500,000 watched National League side Sutton United beat Leeds 1-0 on BT Sport Freeview. Nobody "can say for sure" what the figures would have been if ManU had been on BT instead and Sutton on the BBC. But the stats "do suggest" why ManU has been live for 56 FA Cup ties in a row (THE SUN, 2/1).

IN FRANCE: L’ÉQUIPE reported Tuesday's Coupe de France match between Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais, broadcast on France 3, drew 3 million viewers to the public broadcaster. The audience translated to a 13.9% market share (L’ÉQUIPE, 2/1).
