Argentine First Division Season To Be Delayed As Institutional Crisis Persists

The "institutional crisis" that Argentine football is experiencing "continues to accumulate problems, and because of this, the upcoming season is far from starting" as scheduled, according to Ramiro Barreiro of EL PAÍS. This was confirmed by the Argentine FA, clubs and players' and referees' unions, "although the delay has not yet been made official, because nobody wants to sign off on a move that would further aggravate the crisis ahead of intervention by FIFA." At the same time, "negotiations are continuing regarding the TV rights" (EL PAÍS, 2/1).
