Colombian Club Atlético Nacional Opens 2,930-Square-Meter Training Facility

Colombian first division football club Atlético Nacional "presented a high-performance training center that will improve the physical conditioning of its players," according to GOAL. The team's new complex, called "La Fábrica de la Pasión" ("The Machine of Passion"), will be where players train for various tournaments (GOAL, 1/31). In Medellín, Jessica Quintero reported several club execs "cut the ribbon and officially opened the building, which the club said stacks up with the training facilities of the top clubs in Europe." Club President Juan Carlos de la Cuesta said, "I have to thank all the people that made possible this great space, which combines specialized facilities and generous training spaces." The 2,930-square-meter, three-story building "features advanced technology" and includes a full-size field, a synthetic field, gym, massage area and wet area with two hot tubs and a hydro-massage pool. De la Cuesta said, "Today we go from a plan of action to a moment of truth with this high-performance center" (EL COLOMBIANO, 1/31).
