ManU and Uber announced a global partnership, the first of its kind for the club. As part of the deal, a dedicated Uber pick-up and dropoff zone will be set up at Old Trafford. Over the next several months, Uber will also connect fans in over 30 countries around the world to ManU through a number of experiences, including behind-the scenes content, bringing fans together on matchdays wherever they are watching, and sending riders and drivers to Old Trafford (ManU). CAMPAIGN LIVE's Simon Gwynn reported earlier this week, Uber unveiled Uber Trip Experiences, "a developer feature that allows third party apps to push content to users through the Uber app during their journey" (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 1/12). In Manchester, Andrew Bardsley reported Uber drivers "are normally classed as self-employed, but a landmark decision in London last year could change that." Two drivers in London brought a case against the company and won, "arguing it should provide holiday pay, a guaranteed minimum wage and breaks." Uber said that it will "appeal the ruling" (MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS, 1/12).
