Marketplace Roundup: Quatro Named Official Leotard Supplier of British Gymnastics

Gymnastics apparel company Quatro, which is headquartered in Swansea, "has been selected by British Gymnastics as its official leotard supplier." British Gymnastics announced that the new four-year sponsorship agreement came into effect on Jan. 1. Quatro is a "relative newcomer to the gymnastics clothing market," yet from its factory in Fforestfach "it is set to supply gymnasts with leotards when they compete all over the world." It is owned and run by Joanna Vazquez, a former British int'l gymnast from Swansea (WALES ONLINE, 1/9).

Matchbook is the new sponsor of 16 fixtures at Sandown Park and Kempton Park Racecourses, including the Imperial Cup and Brigadier Gerard days at Sandown Park and Silver Cups day at Kempton Park, which will be shown live on ITV4. Matchbook will also be the sole race sponsor for a number of other jump and all-weather meetings at Kempton Park throughout the year. Matchbook was able to sign this agreement as a result of its status as an authorized betting partner of British Racing (Matchbook).

Fitness First is "throwing open its doors" to Londoners "amid strikes across the Underground." Commuters will be given free access to shower and gym facilities across Fitness First's 47 London outlets when they show their Oyster card during the strike. The health and fitness group ran a similar campaign in '15 "around a number of tube strikes during the summer" (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 1/9).

Bayern Munich defender Jérôme Boateng has signed a deal to become a brand ambassador for McDonald's. The deal was negotiated by consulting agency SAM Sports. The German national team player is also a brand ambassador for JBL, Nike and Panasonic (SPONSORs, 1/9).

Red Bull Racing will expand its relationship with software specialist Citrix, which will become an innovation partner of the team. Red Bull Racing's relationship with Citrix started in '07. The supplier relationship will become a deeper technical collaboration (Red Bull Racing).
