Formula E team Venturi has restructured its marketing and communications department. The Monaco-based team has appointed ELLEN LOHR to lead its marketing. In addition, BIRGITT DIETEL will be responsible for communications, and MICHAEL KIILERICH takes over commercial management. The trio replaces JIM WRIGHT, who has been working for the team since its inception in '14 (Venturi Formula E). ... Former Estonian basketball player JAAK SALUMETS is now president of the nation's basketball federation. He was the only candidate for the position and was voted into the role unanimously by all members of the board at the election in Parnu (FIBA). ... World Golf Foundation announced LPGA Commissioner MIKE WHAN has been named WGF chair for '17 by the board of directors. He succeeds TIM FINCHEM, who recently retired as PGA Tour commissioner. Whan launched his career at Procter & Gamble in '87 (WGF). ... Championship rugby side Sheffield Eagles appointed club Dir CHRIS NOBLE as interim chair (Sheffield Eagles). ... Two-time Hungarian Olympic Gold Medalist ARON SZILAGYI has been elected president of the Int’l Fencing Federation’s (FIE) Athletes’ Commission. The position also places him on the FIE Exec Committee (FIE).

COACHES/MANAGERS: League One side Gillingham named former Forest Green Rovers Manager ADY PENNOCK as its new head coach, "after sacking JUSTIN EDINBURGH on Tuesday." Former Gills defender Pennock, 45, will be joined by National League South side Welling United boss JAMIE DAY and National League side Bromley Assistant Manager STEVE LOVELL as first-team coaches. The trio "have been placed in charge until the end of the season" (BBC, 1/4). ... La Liga side Osasuna has sacked Manager JOAQUIN CAPARROS "after just eight games in charge." Sporting Dir PETAR VASILJEVIC "will take charge of the club until the end of the season." Caparros took over from ENRIQUE MARTIN in November (SPORT, 1/5). ... Relegation-threatened EPL side Hull City appointed Portuguese Manager MARCO SILVA on Thursday to replace MIKE PHELAN and “take charge until the end of the Premier League season.” The 39-year-old Silva will make his debut in Saturday's home FA Cup third-round tie with Swansea City (REUTERS, 1/5).
