Marketplace Roundup: Lydia Ko's PXG Club Deal Worth $10M

World No. 1 women's golfer Lydia Ko's new club deal is reportedly worth a "mammoth" NZ$14.5M ($10.1M). Ko confirmed her new deal with PXG on Tuesday. While she did not talk about the numbers involved in her deal, golf blogger Geoff Shackelford reported that sources said that it was worth $10M for five years (STUFF, 1/4).

English sparkling wine producer Chapel Down announced a four-year sponsorship deal with the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race. This April, the "winners of the famous sporting rivalry will celebrate with the English fizz rather than Champagne." Bollinger was the race's sponsor from '12-16 (DRINKS BUSINESS, 1/3).

Audi
will be the official car partner for the week-long Aircel Chennai Open tournament. Audi will be "using their fleet of cars to transport players" in the city during the period of the int'l tennis tournament (THE HINDU, 1/2).

Brasileiro side Flamengo agreed to a "lucrative" new shirt sponsorship deal with Carabao. According to Brazilian media reports, the Thai-based energy drink brand's logo will "adorn the sleeves of the club's shirt this year, before replacing Caixa in the main chest spot" in '18. The deal, which remains subject to approval by the club's board, is reportedly worth R$190M ($59M) plus sales-related bonuses over six years (SPORTS PRO MEDIA, 1/3).

Starting with the World Handball Championship, hosted by France from Jan. 11-29, the French Handball Federation (FFHB) announced Butagaz as an official sponsor of its men’s and women’s teams. The French natural gas firm’s logo will be seen on players’ right shoulders and on the left leg of their shorts (FFHB).

The French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF) announced the renewal of its partnership with Groupe BPCE. Groupe BPCE, the second largest banking group in France, will remain the official banking partner of the French Olympic team for the next Olympic cycle. The two have been partners since ’10 (CNOSF).

Lagardère Sports announced a partnership between Ligue 2 side Red Star FC and Nissan for the ’16-17 season. As an official partner, Nissan will have “strong visibility at the Jean Bouin Stadium, and will provide the club with cars” (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 1/4).
